Description
Description
The Advance Pi3 wing is by far our best-seller at parapente-proshop.com. We have sold hundreds of them with a 100% satisfaction rate.
For years, the PI series has delivered a remarkable, complete Hike & Fly package combining lightweight design, excellent performance, and a high fun factor. The third generation places even greater emphasis on the product's original motto, "versatility and lightness": the PI 3 is available in two additional sizes, 21 and 25, making it even lighter and more compact.
Our Pi3 wings are delivered with a compression bag but without a rucksack.
In thermal flight
When thermal flying up to a projected wing loading of 4.5 kg/m2, the PI 3 features a well-balanced canopy that is easy to fly and offers maximum passive safety. In this range, the PI 3 is ideally suited for beginners and leisure pilots.
In hike & fly
The hike & fly range with a projected wing loading between 4.5 and 5 kg/m2 is the right choice for those who want to hike up with lightweight equipment and enjoy a dynamic descent flight.
As a mini wing
In the mini-wing range, with a projected wing loading of 5 kg/m2 and above, the PI 3 is distinctly an active wing. It demands a highly experienced pilot who flies actively and can virtually anticipate wing collapses before they even happen. The highly compact wing is also suited for Climb & Fly projects.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Depending on its wing loading, the PI 3 places different demands on the pilot. The higher the loading, the greater the flight characteristics and piloting skill requirements will be. Smaller wings are fundamentally more agile, livelier, and more demanding to fly, even when loaded within their normal weight range. You can view the varying piloting requirements according to wing loading in the chart opposite.
Technologies & Features

State-of-the-art Edelrid Pro Dry lines
The PI 3 is the first wing in the world to be equipped with Edelrid’s new Pro Dry lines. The Pro Dry, developed based on the renowned Aramid 8000 line, offers water resistance that is more than 60% better. With excellent dimensional stability, this line maintains above-average tear resistance even after long-term use.

Size-dependent properties
Sizes 16 and 19 tend to be used for extreme Hike & Fly or even Climb & Fly: they are uncompromisingly optimized for weight and volume reduction. The Nitinol wires used in the leading edge and the extremely lightweight Dominico 10D fabric make these minimal dimensions possible. From size 21 upwards, the focus shifts to handling and durability, utilizing the proven Porcher Skytex 27 g fabric and integrating nylon wires.

Holding Pin Loops
To prevent the paraglider from sliding on steep or slippery terrain (such as snow), "Holding Pins" can be attached to the new loops on the PI 3 using a short cord. To avoid damaging the wing, we recommend removing the holding pins before packing it up. These pins are not included with the product, so you will need to source them yourself. We recommend golf tees.

Recommended XPACK (not included with our PI 3 wings)
The new backpack designed for the PI 3 is available in two sizes: 24L (368 g) and 32L (430 g). It is even lighter and more functional than its predecessor. The product features a refined finish with new ultra-light mesh shoulder straps and hip belt, a detachable helmet net, and a removable ice axe attachment.
