Go cross-country, but have fun doing it! The new SIGMA 12 DLS promises improved performance and more fun by letting you glide with forgiving handling. The new internal structure design makes this sporty cross-country wing not only more high-performance but also lighter. The Mini Ribs with nitinol rods on the leading edge and the Durable Lightweight Structure, which strikes the perfect balance between lightness and strength, contribute to this. The SIGMA DLS is available starting at 3.70 kg.
Performance Improvement
With the new profile, the front miniribs ensure that the leading edge—which is critical to fluid dynamics—maintains its precise shape. The resulting high stability of the profile is a key factor in the SIGMA DLS’s performance gains (compared to the SIGMA 11). Overall, it continues to meet the usual expectations of pilots from the previous series.

With the SIGMA DLS, cross-country (XC) flying enthusiasts can enjoy an excellent balance between performance and demands, and—thanks to the proven three-line design—can count on a forgiving flight character with ample safety reserves. Robust Lightness
With DLS technology, the SIGMA series’ tradition spanning more than 30 years meets the future. Careful design optimizations and a perfectly balanced blend of materials make the SIGMA DLS surprisingly lightweight (available starting at 3.7 kg). The super-elastic Nitinol rods reduce storage space and increase durability, as they do not deform even under heavy loads.

DURABLE LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURE (DLS)
DLS incorporates a series of small but significant innovations that, when combined, result in a considerable reduction in weight. The combination of lightweight and traditional materials is even better optimized, and targeted geometric optimization allows for even greater material savings.
MINI RIBS ON THE LEAD EDGE
The nitinol Mini Ribs positioned along the leading edge help the wing maintain a precise shape in this area, which is critical for fluid dynamics. The results of detailed calculations on the effect of the Mini Ribs demonstrate optimal profile accuracy under all flight conditions.
EFFECTIVE PITCH CONTROL
The SIGMA DLS features a modern Pitch Control System with C-line handles. The system transmits inputs from the C-lines to the B-lines, so the wing profile does not distort. This allows the wing to remain controllable via the C- and B-lines, even during accelerated flight, and provides the authentic sensation of flying a two-line wing.
EDELRID PRO DRY HIGH-TECH CLIMBING CARABINERS
The SIGMA DLS is equipped with lines that are extremely dimensionally stable and offer above-average tear resistance, even after numerous flights. The unsheathed Pro Dry lines are color-coded and are 60% more water-repellent than the lines in the previous generation.
