BGD ADAM 2 wing!
From your first flight to precision competitions, set your mind free.
Safety was the top priority when designing this paraglider. BGD has put all its expertise into creating the ideal wing for beginners. The Adam 2 is a "training" wing that forgives mistakes, helping to eliminate any apprehension about those first big flights and first thermals.
At takeoff
The lines are sheathed and colored for easier untangling, which can often be a source of stress when learning. Excellent inflation behavior and equally effective handling will reassure beginners during this important phase of flight.
In flight
The high stability on the pitch, roll, and yaw axes will allow students to feel comfortable in their harnesses. The large control travel with a very progressive and "understandable" stall point will make the Adam 2 an ideal ally for safe learning.
Technical specifications
Optimized line layout
The line layout is an integral part of the wing design. The wing and lines are designed together as a whole. The width of the cells and the inter-cells that transfer the load across the wing are designed in accordance with the line layout. The same applies to the shape of the panels, which is designed using numerous CAD simulations. The result is simple: fewer lines make for a stronger, faster, and safer wing.
Progressive stability
BGD wings are designed to alert the pilot as soon as they encounter moderate turbulence, rather than suddenly closing when they enter a truly turbulent area. According to Bruce Goldsmith, "a very stable, single-piece wing that almost never closes can lead to an increased risk of accidents," because when a closure does occur, the pilot is not expecting it, it is usually severe, and they have little experience in dealing with such a situation.
Cord Cut Billow
Special cut of the leading edge panels: Cord Cut Billow technology was developed to improve the surface finish, stability, and overall performance of BGD paragliders. To achieve this, the leading edge panels are cut twice along the chord to ensure optimal surface development of the cells. Along the profile, up to ten centimeters of excess fabric is created by the billowing effect. This excess material is normally absorbed by the intercell folds, whereas CCB, by approaching the ideal surface development, does not simply minimize this defect.
Elliptical opening of the boxes
BGD has found that an elliptical opening of the cells allows for better distribution of stresses on the underside, resulting in smoother inflation and more gradual reinflation following closure.
Dedicated lift for ears
BGD has added a dedicated elevator for the ailerons, which also has a 1/2 reduction ratio compared to the central ailerons. This makes the ailerons easy to operate and also improves stability and acceleration speed.
