X-LITE – The ultra-light rescue parachute for Hike & Fly
Weighing in at just 741 g ( 80 version) and 869 g ( 95 version), the X LITE isone of the lightest rescue parachutes on the market. Specially designed for hike & fly enthusiasts, it combines safety, reliability, and innovative technology for a stable and controlled descent.
Its riser, developed in partnership with COUSIN Trestec, is inspired by climbing equipment for increased resistance and optimal force absorption during deployment.
Details
Ultra-light, ultra-compact, 100% Hike & Fly.
The X LITE was designed to meet the demands of pilots looking for lightness without compromising on safety. Thanks to an optimized design and careful selection of materials, it weighs only 741 g (80 version) and 869 g (95 version)—one of the lightest on the market.
Innovation at the service of your safety
The X LITE introduces a revolutionary riser, developed in partnership with COUSIN Trestec. Inspired by climbing equipment, it uses parallel core braiding technology that combines high strength with controlled elasticity. This flexibility allows for better energy absorption when the parachute opens, reducing stress on the canopy and allowing the use of lighter fabrics without sacrificing performance.
A structure designed for stability
The design of the panels forms a flatter arch, ensuring a smooth and stable descent. The ingenious "spider web" assembly effectively distributes loads to the edges, limiting localized stress points and ensuring durability and safety even with lightweight materials.
Simplicity and efficiency
The X LITE makes folding easier thanks to color coding on the lines and visual markers on the panels. In just a few minutes, your reserve is perfectly folded, ready for the next flight.
Optimized pod
The original pod, with its two-stage opening flaps, limits the risk of interference between the lines and the pod. It weighs only 17 g. The X LITE can also be installed in another pod, provided that the opening system is tested to ensure proper operation.
At the heart of ultra-light
Imagine a rescue parachute so light and compact that you almost forget it's there. Available from741 grams, the X LITE offers unmatched lightness and compactness.
Its light weight isn't its only advantage: thanks to its unmatched compactness, it offers a reduced volume of only2.02 Linsize 80. This means you can travel lighter without compromising on safety.
Designed forhike& fly enthusiastsseekingperformanceandlightness, the X LITE is at the crossroads between technical innovation and minimalism. It is a must-have for pilots looking for lightnesswithout compromising on safety.
DYNALINK innovation
Our designers' initial goal was ambitious:to design the world's lightest emergency parachutewhilemaintaining the highest level of safety and robustness.
To achieve this, the major challenge for the parachute is to pass the certification tests, which subject it to severe stress. The lighter the product, the more fragile its structure is likely to be, preventing it from passing this crucial stage.
To meet this challenge, SUPAIR has partnered withCOUSIN Trestecandtheir expertise in rope technology to develop a new type of riser: the DYNALINK.
Today, most parachutes are equipped with a static riser and reinforcements in the canopy to withstand the impact upon opening and ensure the integrity of the parachute.
The DYNALINK, on the other hand, takes a completely different approach. Thanks tothe elasticity of the materials used, the elevator absorbs some of the energy by deforming, reducing the stress on the rest of the structure. Once the energy has been absorbed, the elevator returns to its original shape. This process is therefore non-destructive.
The use of this new technologyallows forthe use oflighter materialsthanwhen the impact is supported solely by reinforcements. Thanks to this innovation, which is currently being patented, the X LITEpushes the boundaries of ultra-lightweight designwhilepassing all the certification and safety tests required by standards with flying colors.
A durable parachute
The selection of materials and design techniques used in the X LITE give it incrediblestrengthforits weight.
Like the dynamic elevator, the panel cutouts and their layout are designed todissipateanddistribute the forces and pressuresto whichthe parachute is subjected during deployment.
This "spider web" assembly instantly distributes stress moreevenlyacrossthe entire wing, preventing these forces from accumulating at any given point.
Simple and straightforward folding
We believe that a parachute should be easy to fold so that the pilot can comply with the recommended folding frequencies and thus ensure their safety.
Although the X LITE is a high-end, lightweight, high-performance parachute, it is stilleasy to foldthanksto itsmultiple visual markers. These markings show you exactly where to hold the panels to fold this square parachute correctly.
Whether it'sthe color-codedrisersto divide the canopy, theriserstogather the panels, or themarkingsforprecise folding, the X LITE simplifies the folding steps as much as possible.
No compromise on safety
Thesquare designofthe X LITE providesbetter stabilityfor theparachute during descent, and therefore a high level of passive safety.
Toslow down the descent speed of a parachute, the canopy must be designed to orient itself as perpendicularly as possible to the descent trajectory. This is why the profile of the X LITE is completely smooth, in order to increase the surface area oriented along this axis.
This optimization of the parachute meets this major safety criterion, offering areduced and safer rate of descent.
DYNALINK innovation – Exclusive technology for lightness and safety
At SUPAIR, the ambition was clear: to create the world's lightest reserve parachute without compromising on safety. To meet this challenge, we collaborated with rope specialists COUSIN Trestec to develop a major innovation:the DYNALINK riser.
A radically new approach
Unlike conventional elevators, DYNALINK uses the elasticity of its fibers to absorb some of the energy generated during opening. Thisdynamic damping capacity reduces the stress on the canopy, allowing lighter materials to be used while still complying with the most stringent certification standards.
The elevator then returns to its original shape without damage, ensuring non-destructive operation and increased longevity.
An ultra-lightweight, ultra-strong structure
The X LITE does not compromise on strength. Every panel, every seam, every reinforcement has been designed to effectively dissipate forces during opening.
Thanks to a "spider web" architecture, stresses are distributed evenly across the entire wing, avoiding any points of force concentration.
This structural optimization achieves an exceptional weight-to-strength ratio, making the X LITE the benchmark for ultra-light reserve parachutes.
Simplified folding, designed for pilots
No matter how high-performance a parachute is, it must remain easy to maintain. The X LITE incorporates numerous visual cues (color codes, markings on the panels, grouping straps) to simplify folding. Just follow the instructions, and in a few minutes, your parachute will be folded correctly—no stress, no guesswork.
Uncompromising security
The square design of the X LITE guarantees a stable descent, for enhanced passive safety.
Its optimized profile maximizes the surface area opposite the fall trajectory, effectively reducing the descent speed. The result: a stable canopy, a controlled fall, and optimal safety, even in the most demanding conditions.
