This is the ideal paragliding radio for recreational use. If you're looking for a more high-performance radio, consider the ALINCO instead.
The PNI P51UV radio is PNI's new "low-cost" dual-band VHF/UHF paragliding radio.
It's the best-performing of the "low-cost Chinese" radios; moreover, the quality (relative to the price) is far superior to that of the competition.
It comes pre-programmed with the two FFVL frequencies. 12-month warranty
The radio operates in several modes: UHF-VHF, VHF-VHF, and UHF-UHF, either in frequency mode or channel mode. You can choose to display both frequencies or channels simultaneously on the screen (depending on the operating mode).
The PNI P15UV is a dual-band radio that offers users maximum flexibility by allowing them to customize various functions: selectable transmit power (5W/1W), manual channel programming, manual frequency entry via the keypad, scan mode selection, adding or excluding channels from the scan, precise frequency scanning by entering a specific frequency range, call encoding and decoding, SOS alarm (local, by code, or audible), repeater tone selection, 9-level adjustable squelch, frequency step selection (2.5/5.0/6.25/10.0/12.5/20.0/25.0/50.0 KHz), etc.

Secure the PNI P15UV station in the included desktop charger. Connect the charger's power cord to a 220V power source. While charging, the charger's LED is red; it turns green when the battery is fully charged.
The 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery can also be charged by connecting it directly to a power source via the battery's micro USB Type-C port.
The dual microphone/speaker connector is a KENWOOD type.
It also features FM radio reception and an LED light.
