The BASE 3 is BGD's B sport. Our optimization software has allowed us to improve performance without increasing the aspect ratio compared to the BASE 2. The BASE 3 is based on our 3rd generation design, the predecessor of which is the DIVA 2. They share many similarities; a pronounced arch, short lines and curved wingtips give it a very distinctive silhouette, as well as multiple advantages in terms of performance and stability.
Like the LYNX 2, it is a 2 and a half line. The performance gain linked to the reduced number of lines is reinforced by the optimized diameter of the unsheathed lines. The line configuration also gives a two-line feel with very pleasant rear steering.
The BASE 3 is very stable in pitch with very little tendency to overshoot the pilot, yet it remains lively and transmits the right level of information at all times. And, in a new development for BGD, the wing is equipped with winglets; a conservative choice that helps the wing to escape from committed spirals.
The BASE 3 is a comfortable wing with incredible glide; it is the tool that will allow pilots to beat their personal records in cross country while having a feeling of safety and ease.
