And, like the first generation of EPIC, it's a great wing for playing and exploring the limits of the flight envelope. Designer's Notes

The EPIC has been an incredible wing in the EN-B access category. Its accessibility, safety, and maneuverability ratio are benchmarks, and it was very important for us to maintain this mix. The new EPIC 2 therefore preserves these qualities and has improved glide ratio and incredible thermal efficiency, with the added bonus of a little more speed compared to the original.

Although they boast the same qualities, a lot has changed between the designs of the two sails. The new EPIC 2 now has 45 cells and an aspect ratio of 5.2 - slightly more than on the first EPIC. Its internal structure is also more complex, but despite all this, the sail maintains the same weight: 4.9 kg in size M. The risers are completely new and the line cone is a mix of lines unsheathed at the top and sheathed at the bottom.

The Epic 2 has short stiffeners in the leading edge and none in the trailing edge, so it is easy to pack. The plastics in the one-piece leading edge are made of different materials: stiffer purlins in the center section and softer, more flexible supports toward the tips. It's a lightweight, elegant, and efficient method of shaping the leading edge.

As on the BASE 2 and CURE 2, we have also doubled the leading edge underside which creates an internal flap that helps maintain pressure and creates a more stable and clean leading edge.
