Compact in the air...

Thanks to its new shape and canopy design, the wing is agile in turns while remaining very stable in roll. It is compact and well-balanced in the air in all conditions. The lines are a carefully selected mix of covered lines on the lower and middle sections and uncovered lines on the upper sections.

...and on the ground

We’ve spared no detail in reducing weight and pack size. Nickel-titanium (Nitinol) rods are used instead of plastic, and the trailing-edge and leading-edge reinforcements have been removed or replaced with lightweight 5mm Mylar-edged strips wherever possible. The internal structure has been optimized to reduce weight by carefully selecting the number of line attachment points. The result? A smaller, more compact, and lighter bag, so you can move around without constraints.

Top-notch thermal performance

Some mountain wings fall short when it comes to thermal performance. That’s not the case with the Yeti 6. The planform, aerodynamic profile, canopy shape, wing tension, and swept wingtips all work together to promote a flat and efficient turn. The Yeti 6 can be used for much more than just descending from the mountain!

Beginners are welcome

The Yeti 6’s handling has been fine-tuned to suit everyone, even those new to the world of free flight. The goal was to create a glider with a more forgiving character than its predecessor, while still offering enough playfulness for more experienced mountain pilots. The brake travel is long and progressive, but the feel is direct, and there is no tendency to go into a parachute or stall if the pilot inadvertently pulls the brakes too hard. It’s a pleasure to fly the Yeti 6, and pilots looking to move into hike & fly need look no further for their wing after graduation.

What sets the Yeti 6 apart is not only its incredibly wide range of flyable wing loading, but above all its unmatched stability across this entire range. It achieved EN A certification even at high wing loadings thanks to the wing’s inherent stability in all axes.

Smooth takeoff performance

Thanks to its profile, the Yeti 6 stabilizes quickly overhead, hangs in the air, and even provides a slight forward thrust during takeoffs in light winds. In stronger winds, the wing performs just as well—it doesn’t shoot forward or lag behind. No matter your skill level or the terrain, the Yeti 6 will ensure a successful takeoff.
