Folding the reserve parachute

We provide professional packing services for emergency parachutes, strictly adhering to the guidelines set by manufacturers and the FFVL.

We strongly recommend having your parachute repacked every 12 months to ensure it opens properly and thus increase your chances of escaping a dangerous situation!

We complete these emergency parachute folding operations within 2 to 3 days.

Drop off or mail your parachute to our shop in Chamonix. After airing it out to remove moisture and excess static electricity—which, if the parachute were to deploy, could cause the panels to stick together slightly and thus increase deployment time— 
We hang, air out, and dry your reserve parachute for 24 hours at our facility.
Folding is performed the following day, in accordance with the manufacturer’s folding manual.
We check the attachments of your reserve parachute to your harness: dimensions and tightness of the links, placement of O-rings to prevent the straps from shifting.
We visually inspect your harness and reposition your parachute inside it.
A packing certificate is issued, including the serial number and our signature.
Manufacturers have set the service life of a reserve parachute at 10 years. After this period, stability after deployment tends to decrease, which can cause swaying during descent and a harder landing. Additionally, after 10 years, the sink rate may increase, exceeding the 5.5 m/s recommended in the EN certification.
