The F*Race2 is an ultralight walking and flying harness. Its development was guided by the Team’s most demanding pilots. With a size M starting at 1.62 kg, we’ve gone to great lengths to satisfy pilots who push the limits of their adventures, while maintaining exceptional comfort and optimal durability.

The Pilot
Even though it offers a surprising level of comfort and accessibility for this type of harness, we don’t recommend it as a first harness. That said, you don’t have to tackle the X-Alps to enjoy a comfortable and sufficiently durable harness. It’s designed for daily use by pilots who want a compact pack for hiking to a distant launch site or for traveling light with a harness suited for cross-country flying.
It's remarkably durable for its class; you just need to take the same care with a lightweight harness as you do with your lightweight wing.
Technology
The F*Race2’s innovative design is based on a 3D Dyneema thread model that was engineered to conform to the body’s anatomy. Damien Lacaze enjoyed its comfort for more than 11 hours while completing the longest flight in X-Alps history.
There are pockets on either side of the cocoon that are accessible while flying, for a camera or other gear. The large rear storage pocket has a sleeve where you can slip in a water bladder and a compartment for trekking poles, in addition to the large compartment located under the seat. You can easily store your batteries in the cockpit pocket. The removable cockpit is ideal for bulky instruments; it can be attached to a waist pouch if you want more accessible storage space while flying.
Security and Certification
The front-mounted reserve compartment is well integrated, its handle is easily accessible, and the reserve straps are connected to the shoulders.
We’ve used an innovative and more effective inflatable airbag with an internal compartment. It also inflates very quickly—in Hike & Fly races, every second counts, and a new 50-gram pump inflates it very quickly. You can also inflate the airbag using the bag that comes standard with the product. A release valve allows you to deflate the airbag quickly. A tube also lets you inflate it while in flight.
The F*Race 2 is certified to the EN 1651-2018 standard for riders weighing up to 110 kg. The inflatable protection, which extends from the thighs to just above the lower back, is certified to deliver a maximum acceleration of less than 33.27gduringimpact.
In Flight
A fixed thigh strap speeds up the process of putting on the harness and helps prevent forgetting to fasten it; it takes just 4 steps to get ready (including clipping the chest strap). During inflation, the wing’s flexibility makes it easier to handle—which improves maneuverability on rough takeoffs. The reinforcements and EVA foam components have been skillfully positioned to minimize pressure points.
In flight, the harness controls are responsive and easy to modulate, and the stabilization system (with adjustable ABS) provides a comfortable ride in turbulence. The long rear fairing and a smooth, streamlined canopy improve glide ratio and stability.
