BREEZE – Freedom, Lightness, and Performance
Light and gentle, like a summer breeze. The BREEZE is a comfortable glider that delivers impressive performance for its class. Hike, fly, camp... and do it all over again!
Details
The BREEZE is BDG’s lightweight intermediate-sport wing , classified as a high-B, designed to offer maximum flying enjoyment. A lighter version of the BASE 3, it is the result of the BGD Performance Project, with a clear priority: to optimize performance without increasing the aspect ratio.
A dynamic ride, efficient climbing
With responsive and precise handling, the BREEZE stands out for its excellent feedback and exceptional climbing performance in thermals. It’s ideal for multi-day flying: lightweight to carry, easy to launch, and powerful enough to tackle ambitious cross-country flights.
Perfect for flying in the mountains
The wing naturally positions itself above the pilot's head during takeoff, and its extremely safe stall behavior makes it perfect for summit landings. In turbulent conditions, its high pitch stability and low tendency to nose-dive reinforce the feeling of safety.
Progressive security, by BGD
Like all BGD wings, the BREEZE offers progressive stability: a solid, stable center of the wing, with more flexible tips. As a result, the first signs of turbulence are felt at the wing tips, allowing the pilotto anticipate, avoid collapses, and stay connected to the air.
Designed to take you far
The BREEZE is the natural choice for pilots looking to step up from a low-B glider like the ECHO 2. It offers greater performance without increasing the mental workload. Confidence, comfort, and ambition: the BREEZE puts you in the best position to fly farther and higher.
So, what are you waiting for? Plan your next gliding and camping trip, slip a BREEZE into your bag, and let the wind carry you away!
Who is it for?
The BREEZE is a lightweight EN-B wing, ideal for intermediate pilots seeking safety, performance, and adventure.
Perfect for hike & fly, it combines all the qualities of the BASE 3 —glide ratio, stability, and flight characteristics—in a design that’s 25% lighter, weighing just 3.3 kg in size XS.
Notes du concepteur
Weighing between 3.3 kg and 3.9 kg depending on size, the BREEZE stands out for its impressive lightness compared to the BASE 3.
We used Porcher Skytex 27 on both the upper and lower surfaces for its proven lightness and durability. The leading edge is reinforced with 32 g/m² fabric for improved wear resistance.
The BREEZE features a 2.5-line configuration: three lines in the center of the wing and two at the tips. This design reduces drag and improves performance, particularly thanks to the unsheathed Edelrid Magix Pro Dry lines. In flight, it offers a feel similar to a two-line wing, especially in B/C control modes.
Designed in the spirit of the BGD Performance Project, the BREEZE features a high aspect ratio, short lines, a tapered profile, and angled wingtips, delivering maximum performance without compromising safety.
Its low-speed behavior is exemplary—just like on the BASE 3—and makes landings at the summit much easier. The winglets ensure easy exit from spirals.
