BREEZE – Freedom, lightness and performance
The BREEZE is BDG's lightweight, high-B rated intermediate sport wing, designed to offer maximum flying pleasure. A lightweight version of the BASE 3 , it is the result of the BGD Performance Project , with a clear priority: optimizing performance without increasing aspect ratio .
Dynamic sensations, efficient climbing
Featuring playful and precise handling, the BREEZE stands out for its excellent feedback and exceptional thermal climbing ability . It is ideal for bivouac flying : light to carry , easy to take off, and powerful enough to aim for ambitious cross-country flights.
Perfect for mountain flying
The wing naturally sits above the head on takeoff, and its ultra-safe stall behavior makes it perfect for summit landings . In turbulent conditions, its high pitch stability and low tendency to dive reinforce the feeling of security.
Progressive security, signed BGD
Like all BGD wings, the BREEZE offers progressive stability : a solid and stable wing center, with softer tips. This means that the first signs of turbulence come from the wingtips, allowing the pilot to anticipate, avoid collapses , and stay connected to the air .
Designed to take you far
The BREEZE is the natural choice for pilots who want to progress from a low-B like the ECHO 2. It offers more performance without increasing the mental load. Confidence, comfort and ambition: the BREEZE puts you in the best conditions to fly further and higher .
So, what are you waiting for? Prepare your next bivouac flight, slip a BREEZE into your bag, and let the wind carry you away!
For whom?
The BREEZE is a lightweight EN-B wing, ideal for intermediate pilots looking for safety, performance and adventure .
Perfect for hike & fly , it has all the qualities of the BASE 3 — finesse, stability, flight behavior — in a 25% lighter format, at only 3.3 kg in size XS.
Designer's Notes
Weighing between 3.3 kg and 3.9 kg depending on size, the BREEZE stands out for its impressive lightness compared to the BASE 3.
We used Porcher Skytex 27 on the lower and upper surfaces for its proven lightness and durability . The leading edge is reinforced with a 32 g/m² fabric for improved wear resistance.
The BREEZE adopts a 2.5-line architecture: three levels of lines in the center of the wing, two at the ends. This choice reduces drag and improves performance, notably thanks to the unsheathed Edelrid Magix Pro Dry lines . In flight, it offers sensations close to a two-line , especially in B/C piloting.
Designed in the spirit of the BGD Performance Project , the BREEZE benefits from a high aspect ratio , short lines , a tapered profile and angled wingtips , for maximum performance without compromising on safety .
Its low-speed behavior is exemplary — as on the BASE 3 — and greatly facilitates landings at the top . The winglets ensure easy exit from spirals .
