Description
Description
From your first flight to precision competitions, set your mind free.
Safety was the top priority in the design of this paraglider. BGD drew on all its expertise to create the ideal wing for beginners; the Adam 2 is a “training” wing that forgives mistakes, helping to eliminate the apprehension associated with those first big flights as well as with the first thermals.
During takeoff
The lines are sheathed and colored, making them easier to untangle—a task that can often be stressful for beginners. Excellent inflation performance and equally effective handling will reassure beginners during this important phase of flight.
In flight
The exceptional stability in pitch, roll, and yaw will help students feel comfortable in their harnesses. The wide control travel, combined with a very gradual and "intuitive" stall point, makes the Adam 2 an ideal choice for safe training.
Technical Specifications
Optimized line layout
The line layout is an integral part of wing design. The wing and its lines are designed together, as a single unit. The width of the cells and the intercells that transfer load across the wing are designed in accordance with the line layout. The same applies to the shape of the panels, which is developed through numerous CAD simulations. The result is simple: fewer lines result in a stronger, faster, and safer wing.
Gradual stability
BGD 's wings are designed to alert the pilot as soon as he encounters moderate turbulence, rather than collapsing suddenly when he enters a truly turbulent area. According to Bruce Goldsmith, “a one-piece wing that is very stable and almost never collapses can lead to an increased risk of accidents,” because when a collapse does occur, the pilot is not expecting it, it is usually severe, and the pilot has little experience dealing with such a situation.
Cord Cut Billow
Special cutting of the leading-edge panels: The “Cord Cut Billow” technology was developed to improve the surface finish, stability, and overall performance of BGD paragliders. To achieve this, the upper-surface panels of the leading edge are cut with two slits along the chord to ensure optimized cell surface area. Along the profile, up to ten centimeters of excess fabric is created due to the billowing effect. This excess material is normally absorbed by the intercellular folds, whereas the CCB, by approaching the ideal surface area, does more than simply minimize this defect.
Elliptical openings in the boxes
BGD It was observed that an elliptical opening in the cells allows for better distribution of stresses on the underside, resulting in a smoother inflation and a more gradual re-inflation after the glider closes.
Dedicated ear lift
BGD added a dedicated ear lift, which also has a 1/2 reduction ratio compared to the central A-frames. This makes it easy to set up the ears and also improves stability and acceleration.
