Description
Description
The Advance Pi3 wing is by far our best seller at parapente-proshop.com. We've sold hundreds of them with a 100% satisfaction rate.
For years, the PI series has offered a remarkable all-in-one Hike & Fly package that combines light weight with excellent performance and a high fun factor. The third generation places even greater emphasis on the product’s original motto, “versatility and lightness”: the PI 3 is available in two additional sizes, 21 and 25, and is even lighter and more compact.
Our pi3s come with a compression bag but do not include a carrying bag.
Thermal Flying
When flying in thermals up to a projected wing loading of 4.5 kg/m², the PI 3, with its well-balanced wing, is easy to fly and offers maximum passive safety. Within this range, the PI 3 is well suited for beginners and recreational pilots.
On Foot & By Air
The hiking and flying range—with a projected wing loading between 4.5 and 5 kg/m²—is the right choice for those who want to hike up with lightweight gear and enjoy a dynamic descent.
In Mini Sailing
In the Mini Voile range, with a projected wing loading of 5 kg/m² or more, the PI 3 is clearly an active wing. It requires a very experienced pilot who flies actively and can practically anticipate the wing’s deformations even before they occur. The very compact wing is also well-suited for Climb & Fly projects.
AREAS OF USE
Depending on its wing loading, the PI 3 will place different demands on its pilot. The higher the wing loading, the more demanding the flight characteristics and piloting skills will be. Small wings are fundamentally more agile, more responsive, and more demanding to fly, even when flying at their normal wing loading. You can see the different piloting requirements based on wing loading in the table on the right.
Technologies & Features

State-of-the-art Edelrid Pro Dry lanyards
The PI 3 is the first wing in the world to be equipped with Edelrid’s new Pro Dry lines. The Pro Dry, developed based on the renowned Aramid 8000 line, offers water resistance that is more than 60% better. With excellent dimensional stability, this line maintains above-average tear resistance even after long-term use.

Size-dependent properties
Sizes 16 and 19 tend to be used for extreme Hike & Fly, or even Climb & Fly: they are optimized without compromise in terms of weight and volume reduction. The Nitinol wires used on the leading edge and the extremely lightweight Dominico 10D fabric have made these minimalist dimensions possible. Starting with size 21, the focus shifts to handling and durability, with the use of the proven Porcher Skytex 27 g fabric and the incorporation of nylon wires.

Holding Pin Loops
To prevent the paraglider from sliding on steep or slippery terrain (snow), "Holding Pins" can be attached to the new loops on the PI 3 using a short cord. To prevent damage to the paraglider, we recommend removing the “Holding Pins” before folding it. These holding pins are not included in the package, so you’ll need to get them yourself. We recommend using golf tees.

XPACK recommended (not included with our pi3s)
The new backpack designed for the PI 3 is available in two sizes: 24 L (368 g) and 32 L (430 g). It’s even lighter and more functional than before. The product features a high-quality finish, with new shoulder straps and an ultralight mesh waist belt, a removable helmet net, and a removable ice axe attachment.
