Ozone Delta 5 – EN-C Performance Paraglider

The Delta legacy lives on. The fifth generation was designed to set a new standard for comfort, ease of use, and performance, featuring a 2-line design that offers greater agility and improved control across the entire speed range.

THE PILOT

The Delta is designed for intermediate to advanced pilots and is intended to serve as a gateway to 2-line technology. It is suitable for pilots moving up from the B+ category and fully satisfies even the most experienced pilots who want the level of control offered by a 2-line design while retaining the incredible ease of use associated with a low aspect ratio.

TECHNOLOGY

The Delta is our 2-line wing with the lowest aspect ratio. Derived from the Photon and developed using the experience gained from years of competition andOzone ’s expertise in 2-line designs, the Delta is a compact and sturdy wing ideal for cross-country flying in the most demanding conditions. The 2-line design allows for direct control of the angle of attack and reduced drag, resulting in excellent performance combined with a level of ease of use never before seen on a low-aspect-ratio wing. Compared to its predecessor, inflation, performance, control during accelerated flight, and overall ease of use have been improved without compromising our promise of True Performance in the slightest.

The new internal structure is optimized for strength and lightness; the wing absorbs turbulence without deforming across its wingspan, thereby maintaining its compactness even in the strongest wind conditions—a feature that is particularly advantageous for maintaining good maneuverability in the most challenging conditions.

CERTIFICATION

The Delta 5 has been certified as EN-C in all sizes using fold lines.

THE FLIGHT

The new Delta retains the same qualities of accessibility and true performance as the previous version.

The 2-line design allows for better inflation in all conditions; the wing tips are less likely to lift first. It doesn’t overshoot the pilot in strong conditions, lifts quickly and easily in calm conditions, and is generally more manageable than any other 2-line glider in our lineup.

The Delta features a control response that provides strong control over roll and yaw; you get a feeling of direct connection while still having a fairly long maximum travel, which allows for deep inputs—whether to achieve an instantaneous roll or yaw change in a thermal or to slow the wing down when approaching a difficult landing.

You can perform the ears by pulling either the AR3s or the BR3s. With the AR3s, you need to apply a firm initial pull—we didn’t want to compromise the strength of the wing tips during normal flight—and then, once in place, the ears remain stable across the entire speed range. The ears on the BR3s are less effective but easier to pull and reopen more quickly.

The Delta is equipped with new risers featuring height-adjustable handles on the B-lines to provide optimal control over the wing, regardless of the pilot's body type.
