DELTA 5: Intermediate / Advanced Sailing - EN C
  • New 2-line low stretch design
  • Legendary Delta accessibility, strength and agility
  • Easy takeoff in all conditions
  • Better high-speed control, True Performance
  • Direct and precise steering
  • New risers with height-adjustable handles on the Bs

The Delta legacy is assured. The 5th generation has been designed to create a new standard in comfort, ease of use, and performance with a 2-line design that provides more finesse and improved control throughout the speed range.

THE PILOT

The Delta is designed for intermediate to advanced pilots, designed to help them transition to 2-line technology. It is suitable for pilots moving up from the B+ category and is suitable for more experienced pilots who want the level of control offered by 2-line architecture while maintaining the incredible ease of use associated with a low aspect ratio.

TECHNOLOGY

The Delta is our lowest aspect ratio 2-line wing. Derived from the Photon and developed using years of competition experience and Ozone's expertise in 2-line architectures, the Delta is a compact and robust wing ideal for XC flying in the most demanding conditions. The 2-lines allow direct angle of attack control and reduced drag, resulting in good performance combined with ease of use never before seen in a low aspect ratio wing. Compared to its predecessor, inflation, performance, accelerated flight control and overall ease of use have been improved without compromising our promise of True Performance.

The new internal structure is optimized to be strong and light, the wing absorbs turbulence without deforming in the span so as to maintain its compactness even in the strongest aerologies, which is a particularly favorable characteristic for maintaining good controllability in the strongest conditions.

CERTIFICATION

The Delta 5 has been EN-C certified in all sizes using fold lines.

THE FLIGHT

The new Delta maintains the same qualities of accessibility and True Performance as the previous version.

The 2-line design allows for better inflation in all conditions, with the wingtips less likely to come up first. It doesn't overwhelm the pilot in strong conditions, climbs quickly and easily without wind, and is generally more docile than any other 2-line in our range.

The Delta has a control response that gives strong authority over roll and yaw, there is a feeling of direct connection while having a rather long maximum travel that allows deep inputs, whether to obtain an instant change in roll/yaw in a thermal or to slow the wing on approach to a complicated landing.

The ears can be made by pulling either the AR3 or the BR3. On the AR3, you need a firm initial pull—we didn't want to reduce the strength of the wingtips in normal flight—then, once in place, the ears are stable throughout the speed range. The ears on the BR3 are less effective but easier to pull and reopen more quickly.

The Delta is equipped with new risers with height-adjustable handles on the Bs for optimal control of the wing, regardless of the pilot's morphology.
