Description
Description
The Yeti UL is a “Plan” reserve parachute—a new standard, just like the Pull Down Apex and the Carré have become. The Plan reserve parachute offers maximum safety while being as compact as possible. It’s the essential companion for hike-and-fly.
Steady descent without drifting
During development, we took great care to optimize airflow to ensure that the rescue device descends vertically without veering off course or following a horizontal trajectory. The basic shape of the rescue device is square and completely symmetrical.
Opens quickly and smoothly
The canopy's shape, the packing procedure, and the ultra-light fabric all contribute to excellent deployment characteristics that are superior to those of any other type of emergency parachute.
What is a “flat” reserve parachute?
The flat reserve parachute is a new concept developed in-house by Gin Gliders, incorporating “suspended struts.” The lines are attached to triangular struts, which are inserted perpendicularly into the canopy’s structure. This technique significantly reduces the canopy’s surface bulge, resulting in a nearly flat upper surface. The projected area is thus increased by 30%. The projected area is the most critical factor in a reserve parachute: it determines the rate of descent. We have therefore achieved excellent rates of descent by reducing the flat area while optimizing the projected area. Ultimately, the performance of this new design is the best ever achieved.
