Description

The pilot

Designed for intermediate to advanced pilots who want to progress, the Alpina 5 is ideal for discovering 2-line technology. It is suitable for pilots moving up from the B+ category and will satisfy even the most experienced pilots who want the level of control offered by 2-line architecture while retaining the incredible ease of use associated with low aspect ratio.

Technology

The Alpina is our light 2-line wing with the lowest aspect ratio. Derived from the Lyght and developed using years of competition experience and Ozone's expertise in 2-line designs, the Alpina benefits from a proven lightweight structure. It is a compact and robust wing, ideal for cross-country flying in remote areas. The 2-line design allows for direct control of the angle of attack and reduced drag, resulting in exceptional performance combined with ease of use never before seen on a low aspect ratio wing. Compared to its predecessor, inflation, performance, control in accelerated flight, and overall ease of use have been improved without compromising our promise of True Performance.

Weight has been reduced by using a complex structure developed for the Zeolite GT. This ultra-light internal structure maintains the same strength and rigidity while reducing the inertia of the wing to improve handling. The wing absorbs turbulence without deforming across its span, maintaining its compactness even in the strongest aerology, which ensures optimal control authority in the most demanding conditions.

Certification

The Alpina 5 has been EN-C certified in all sizes using folding lines.

The theft

The Alpina retains the same accessibility and True Performance qualities as the previous version, but with better inflation and increased control at full speed. The wing inflates quickly and easily without wind and does not overpower the pilot in strong winds. The 2-line architecture provides more effective and intuitive control during accelerated flight, allowing you to maintain more speed in turbulence with total control of the angle of attack. Compared to the Delta 5, the Alpina 5's lighter wing inflates faster and provides an easier launch. The reduced inertia also gives you greater sensitivity to air mass and increases control efficiency, further enhancing the wing's agility.

You can perform a wing drop by pulling either the AR3 or BR3 lines. With the AR3 lines, you need to pull firmly at first—we didn't want to reduce the strength of the wing tips during normal flight—but once in place, the wing drops remain stable across the entire speed range. The BR3 wing drops are less effective but easier to pull and reopen more quickly.

The risers on the Alpina 5 are equipped with height-adjustable handles on the B lines to provide optimal control over the wing, regardless of the pilot's physique.
