Ozone Zeno 2 Paraglider

Four years after its launch, the Zeno is still at the top of the EN D class and we knew it would be difficult to replace. After two years of an intense R&D program, we are proud to have designed a worthy successor.

The Character

The comfort and ease of use that made the Zeno a success absolutely had to be maintained. This is why the aspect ratio and number of cells are unchanged on the Zeno 2, in addition to increased passive safety – with improved re-flight in frontal or asymmetric collapse.

Performance

The Zeno 2 has a new profile, a higher positive Cm (reflex) and a further opening. These technical developments significantly increase the maximum speed but also improve the glide ratio across the entire speed range. A little faster with arms up than the Zeno and much faster when fully accelerated, the Zeno 2 is on par with the Enzo 3 in both speed and glide ratio. The maximum speed (7km/h above the Zeno) is very high and essentially useful for the final glide in competition.

The Sensations

Overall, the Zeno 2 transmits a little more information than the Zeno, but still in a comprehensible way. The wing remains comfortable and reassuring for pilots in this category. The finer sensitivity it provides allows for better centering of the thermal, following the lift lines and feeling the air mass. The optimization of the internal structure ensures an incredible feeling of cohesion when climbing in a turbulent thermal. Covid caused a delay that ultimately gave us more time to refine the handling – the response to the control is precise and dynamic, giving greater agility than the Zeno.

Takeoff

The improved handling and cohesion of the wing are noticeable during inflation and allow for a flawless takeoff. The Zeno 2 inflates easily from any position on the ground, even without wind. Perhaps apart from the Zeolite, the Zeno 2 is the easiest 2-line wing to take off.

The Pilot

The Zeno 2 is specifically designed for highly experienced cross-country pilots who fly at least 100 hours per year, who have acquired the skills developed in SIV and who are looking for the performance necessary for record-breaking cross-country flights or competition.
